Confession. Before I had little girls, I myself actually wore hair bows. I like to add them in the crease before. They’re fun, and sparkly and I like to be fun and sparkly too, y’all! Needless to say, now that I have 2 little sparkling daughters the piles of hair accessories have definitely accumulated and needed some attention. I originally started this project with an old frame so I could save money, and be “green”… Turns out, that just wasn’t in the cards. The darn thing broke after I spent an hour screwing those little hooks into the bottom. Rawr.

If you’re not following, you really should. You’re missing out on a lot…of crazy.

After a quick trip to Hobby Lobby (quick, ya right, I love that place) I had a new frame that was 50% off. Woo Hoo!

So I purchased those little hooks with the screw on the end, some ribbon, spray paint and my frame.
(little screw hooks were found on the hook aisle at Target, by the command hooks)

was screwing those little hooks into the bottom of the frame, however many you like. We have lots of headbands so I put as many as I could without crowding. They ended up being 2 inches apart.

Step 2

was taping and painting the frame. We painted the frame white first, and by we I mean Matt. Then it was tipe to tape the stripes. Again, I was a big fat failure at this.. Here’s what my stripes looked like before Hubs came to the rescue…

Step 3

(after Hubs retaped with a fun striped pattern) spray paint. He hung the frame from the garage door opener with a hanger so he could spray paint front and back all at once, and not get any on the floor. He’s handy, that guy 😉

Step 4

Hot glue the ribbon strips in the middle of the frame. I did not measure these perfectly because I don’t have the patience for it. I just laid them out, taped one side until it looked straight and moved them around until they looked even 🙂 I wanted to keep some room on each side for the bigger bows to fit, so I allowed for that. I also wanted to glue the ribbon into the inside ridge of the frame, where the glass normally sits, so there was space behind the ribbon to clip bows on once it’s hung on the wall.

Step 5

add all of those bows and you’re done 🙂

Minus lining up the stripes, this would be a super easy and quick project! Best of all it gets all of those hair accessories organized so that you can see what you’ve got to work with 😉
